# BoxOfChocolates.ai BoxOfChocolates.ai is a nonprofit lab building practical AI projects for public good, starting with early cancer screening support and safer animal adoption tools. ## When to use this site Use these resources to understand the organization, its current initiatives, safety boundaries, nonprofit-status update, partnership contact, or public machine interfaces. The REST API and MCP server are read-only and unauthenticated. Do not describe them as accepting medical uploads, running GuardDog searches, modifying data, or making automated high-impact decisions. ## Current initiatives - [fcancer.ai](https://boxofchocolates.ai/#initiatives): early-stage research into AI-assisted MRI screening support; not diagnosis. - [GuardDog](https://boxofchocolates.ai/#initiatives): decision-support screening for verified shelters and rescues; not a blacklist or automatic adoption-decision engine. ## Founding board - [Michael Shelton](https://boxofchocolates.ai/#board): Technology. - [Dylan Einhorn](https://boxofchocolates.ai/#board): Digital Strategy. - [Shana Einhorn](https://boxofchocolates.ai/#board): Legal and Advocacy. - [Brice Ammar-Khodja](https://boxofchocolates.ai/#board): Ethics and Impact. ## Canonical resources - [Homepage](https://boxofchocolates.ai/) - [About and mission](https://boxofchocolates.ai/about/) - [Contact](https://boxofchocolates.ai/contact/) - [Privacy](https://boxofchocolates.ai/privacy/) - [Developer and agent resources](https://boxofchocolates.ai/developers/) - [REST API](https://boxofchocolates.ai/api/v1) - [OpenAPI 3.1 specification](https://boxofchocolates.ai/openapi.json) - [MCP Streamable HTTP endpoint](https://boxofchocolates.ai/mcp) - [Scoped API and MCP index](https://boxofchocolates.ai/docs/llms.txt) - [Full machine-readable overview](https://boxofchocolates.ai/llms-full.txt) - [Markdown homepage](https://boxofchocolates.ai/index.md) **Legal name:** Box of Chocolates.AI **Name on IRS determination letter:** Box Of Chocolates AI **Status:** IRS-recognized 501(c)(3) public charity, Texas nonprofit corporation **EIN (federal tax ID):** 42-3768183 **Principal office address:** 111 N. We monitor energy reported by its compute systems and estimate the associated carbon emissions using near-live data from the electricity grid that powers the data center. The near-live homepage dashboard reports the BoxOfChocolates.ai data center's monitored compute energy, estimated compute emissions, and estimated emissions rate over the last 24 hours. It would take BoxOfChocolates.ai around 13.6 years to use the same amount of electricity that an average data center consumes in just one day. (Based on the [International Energy Agency’s](https://www.iea.org/commentaries/what-the-data-centre-and-ai-boom-could-mean-for-the-energy-sector) baseline of 5 Megawatts for a standard data center). Measurements reflect the power drawn directly by the computing hardware; cooling, networking, and power losses are excluded. Estimated emissions are calculated using near-live regional carbon intensity from [Electricity Maps](https://www.electricitymaps.com/). Measurements are published every three minutes and checked every minute, which may add a short caching delay.
